apibrėžtis Technologas, kuris dalyvauja mineralinių žaliavų paieškos planavimo ir realizavimo darbuose. Tam tikslui jis surenka naudingus dokumentus (aerofotonuotraukas, žemėlapius, reljefo planus, geologines ataskaitas) apie paieškų rajoną, pritaiko šiuos duomenis paieškos reikalams, vadovauja judėjimui miškuose, atlieka kitas technines užduotis, pvz., ėminių ėmimą, matavimus ir duomenų registravimą. Jis stengiasi kruopščiai išnagrinėti žemėlapius ir planus, kad galėtų tinkamai vadovauti paieškos grupei persikeliant iš vienos vietos į kitą pagal numatytą maršrutą.
